"An 18th Century Tavern Dinner"

6:00 PM Cocktail Hour.  Meal begins at 7:00.

Tickets must be purchased by March 12. $65 for members, $75 for non-members. Period dress is encouraged, cocktail attire suggested.


Journey back in time and enter the Old Berwick Tavern ca. 1780. Imagine what it must have been like to travel to Berwick by stage coach. 

Taverns and stagecoach routes configured the Berwicks we know today. At this historical society fundraiser near the old Portland Turnpike, discover the dining experience of our region’s 18th century travelers. Unwind as the tavern patrons might have with a tankard of a fine rum punch. Take pictures on a vintage carriage.

Enjoy the hospitality of the inn holder as he offers you his 18th century food and beverages, and provides you with the music of the time performed by R. P. Hale on a reproduction harpsichord and dulcimer.

YOU ARE IN FOR A REAL CULINARY TREAT AS YOU enjoy a four-course meal, with three dishes at each course. Here’s just a sample: Venison Forced with Black Current & Golden Raisin, Beef with Yorkshire Pudding (With Beef Drippings), Braised Stuffed Cabbage Leaves, and Gingerbread Cakes with whipped cream.

Complementing the meal are beverages from Tributary Brewing Company and North Country Hard Cider. 

We are proud to have Gary Loiselle from the Wentworth by the Sea Country Club and Julie Cutting Kelley from Cure Restaurant as our guest chefs, along with the fabulous chefs from the Outlook.
